ID#86: We paid for the renovation of our house. The scammer took the money and disappeared (we know where he is)

Claim amount: 100.000 > euro

Status: Collecting offers

I live in Germany. In May 2010 my husband and I bought an old but still strong house. Victor K, the owner of a construction company that consists of "russian germans" offered us to renovate the house. Victor told us that if we want the house to be ready by winter we had to pay him cash as, if paid cash, his subcontractors would be interested in doing eveything faster and produce the materials by order. We accepted it.

After this the scammer took everything we had - 133.000 Euros. When he understood that our money was over he disappeared leaving us with a completely ruined house. Before the "work" started the house required only small renovations but now it is in ruins. The fraudster removed everything out of it: windows, doors, flooring, bathroom equipment including the shower cubicle, windowsills of stone, staircases around the house etc. We paid not only for the renovation but also ordered and paid in advance for the new marble flooring, bathroom equipment for 3 bathrooms, built-in kitchen, fridge, 16 windows, 12 doors etc. When Victor was receiving the money from us he was giving us the receipts and signed for each sum. We also have his signatures on all descriptions of the materials he supposed to use for the renovation of the house.

Once the scammer called us and I cornered him by promising to publish the information I had. I recorded our conversation on videotape. He accepted that he had taken the money, apologized and promised to pay everything back within the next 3 weeks. After it he disappeared again and all his phones were switched off. We also heard the rumours that he was planning to close his company.

I have a lot of compelling facts and evidences, recorded phone conversations, his private address, his photos, photos of his team, address of his company, all the phone numbers including his private number etc., but the local police are extremely lazy and slow.

I will be very grateful if any company can help us to return our money. I am sure that it is a sure case for any professional as the facts are clear and I have all the supporting materials.
